Well it's been a little while since my last update so I thought I would share my progress once again. It is really settling in that this is going to be quite a lengthy process when it is all said and done. Here is what we have accomplished thus far: After much frustration we finally got the front suspension bolted up and installed the Wilwood disks/calipers (these will probably be overkill considering the fact that the car weighs practically nothing but everyone knows big disks + red calipers = cool) After browsing the forums for a little while, we decided to paint all of the aluminum panels black so that they would contrast nicely with the pop rivets and then secured the front F-panels in place as well as the front of the drivers foot box. The pedal assembly came next and we just dropped that unit in today…it looks like there is going to be little to no extra room in that foot box for resting your feet while driving. That's basically all I have to share as of right now. Yesterday the rear end got delivered but it needs to have a bracket welded in place so we are currently waiting on that. More to come.

Sloth goes "rivet rivet."
I'd love to own one of these, and I hope my future other half will allow me to have one of these.
I'd go after the 33 hot rod though. I'd love any of their cars, and while the GTM would probably be my favorite in their lineup, that 33 just speaks to me with ideas of how to make a really unique ride.

Thanks! We decided to go the 5.0L Coyote route for this build and after a little discussion with a Ford Racing expert, we decided to mate that to a Tremec T-5. Technically the T-5 is not rated for the kind of power that the Coyote puts out but since this car is not going to be driven hard by any stretch of the imagination we went with it. I think that I am going to upgrade the shifter as well when we recieve the tranny as I've heard that the standard shifter leaves something to be desired.

I thought really hard about going with the Hot Rod. I had the chance to see a completed one in person…beautiful car when done right.

Don't steal my idea, but I'd like to grab an older L99 with the Displacement on Demand, and stuff that under the hood. I'd go with a hood, no side panels covering the engines (gotta expose that), full length running boards, and convert the trunk to open as a rumble seat. Do a full wire tuck, and have custom valve covers made, and wrap the exhaust headers. I'd probably have the hood open towards the front too.
300ish HP when needed, and 4cyl for cruising. I'd have to settle for the automatic trans for that combo, but hot damn I'd love to build it one day.
Matte black, some retro gas station logo on the door with a really weathered look, with some American Racing Outlaw wheels.
Jesus stop me now....

Sounds like my kind of hot rod, I can just picture this. Matte black was what the hot rod I saw was painted in and, in my opinion, is one of the best color choices for that body shape. Make this happen!!!
And with those Outlaw wheels and running boards…you'd definately have a winner there
